Siren
Ghoul Henrietta's Gravesite Midnight Halloween Soup
It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents,
except for a small area around Henrietta's grave, where we
set up our annual midnight picnic in honor of Siren Ghoul
Henrietta. Now SGH is not your typical ghoul, she is a wonderful
member of a nocturnal subterranean race, who does not have
a diet of human corpses, she is pretty much a vegetarian ,
so she says. She hangs out with us once or twice a year, when
she's bored, and last year, she surprised us with this delicious
concoction in a caldron over an open fire. So we lovingly
decided to share it with you. Bon Appetite!
Ingredients
1 pound organic ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
6 cups water
1 teaspoon organic chicken soup base
1 cup diced red or purple potato
1 bay leaf
1/8 teaspoon basil
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon thyme
6 cups tomatoes, diced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1-cup warm water
2 cups broken vermicelli
Preparation
In a caldron, combine organic ground turkey, chopped
onion, and chopped celery. Cook until the vegetables are soft;
drain. Stir in water, organic chicken base, diced red or purple
potatoes, bay leaf, basil, chopped parsley, thyme, diced tomatoes,
and flour dissolved in warm water. Cover and simmer for 1
hour. Add vermicelli and simmer until cooked, about 10 minutes.
