SHERWOOD FOREST BED AND BREAKFAST
Douglas, Michigan
Paul McCartney once wrote,”... the love
you take is equal to the love you make.” Sherwood Forest Bed & Breakfast
in Douglas engenders the same thought. Open year-round, The Victorian-style
inn presents a chance for lovers to reunite and rejuvenate their passions
for one another by surrounding them in nature and warm seclusion.

The 13-year-old inn, owned by Keith and
Sue Charak, has fireplaces and Jacuzzis in rooms designed for the romantic.
Breakfast is served each morning on fine china in the dining room or
on the porch that surrounds the house. Sherwood Forest has many packages
that cater to romantics, most of which include enticing chocolates,
cheeses and wines. Couples have been known to leave the kids at home,
drive out for the night and just reconnect.
For a real romantic evening, call ahead and order the ‘Lady Marion’ package,
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut Champagne, a fruit and cheese basket with a dozen
roses. Spend the weekend in the Log Cabin Suite, a spacious room that is resembles
a pine forest, offering a double-sided fireplace that peers from the bed to the
Jacuzzi. In-room massage is available.
If total closure from the outside world is more in mind, stay in the secluded
cottage next door; it offers a living room with TV/VCR, air conditioning and
a full-kitchen so you can prepare an elegant dinner for two, or prepare it together
and start relearning about each other. “Without any outside interference,
you can spend 48 hours communing with your significant other,” Keith says.
